Yamaha Launches Sports Scooter New Sniper 155 and 155R
Yamaha launched the Sniper 155 and 155R after months of waiting. Fans of the Sniper line of sporty motorcycles are finally rewarded with the 2021 Sniper 155 in the Philippines. The new Sniper 155 receives design clues from YZF-R1. The Japanese brand recently rolled out the NVX in the Malaysian market.
Sniper 155 and 155R Features
The scooter is powered by a single-cylinder liquid-cooled 155cc SOHC 4-valve fuel-injected engine that churns out 17.7bhp at 9,500rpm and 14.4Nm at 8,000rpm. The engine is fitted with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) plus new Individual Ignition Timing Maps to further maximize the engine’s power. For braking, it employs a single disc on both ends.
It is paired with a revised exhaust pipe and muffler to optimized power output across the entire rpm range, but also reduce noise. To speed up catalyzation in the catalytic converter, it is positioned closer to the tail end of the exhaust pipe inside the muffler to better use the high temperature of the exiting exhaust. It hosts a larger 5.4-liter fuel tank.
The Yamaha Sniper is a sharp and sporty-looking scooter. The Standard variant comes with features like all LED lights, negative LCD instrument cluster for better visibility, slipper clutch, and VVA technology, which ensures linear power delivery throughout the rev range. In addition, a 12V power socket to charge devices and smart key system are additionally offered with the R variant.
