TVS to Sell iQube Electric Scooter in 20 More Indian Cities

TVS, an Indian multinational motorcycle company is planning to sell its only electric scooter –the iQube in 20 more cities. TVS Motor Company is gearing up to add more names to the list of cities iQube electric scooter is sold in. Currently, the company sells this e-scooter in Bengaluru and Delhi.

As per the company’s official, TVS is planning to expand the sales reach of the electric scooter to 20 more cities. Though the names of the cities have not been revealed, the iQube is likely to first make its way to metro cities followed by smaller ones. Apart from some tier-1 cities, expect a few tier-2 names included in the list as well. Before launching the iQube the company will work on public charging infrastructure.

TVS iQube Electric Scooter Features

Heavily feature-packed, TVS iQube is powered by a 4.4kW electric motor and a 2.25kW Lithium-ion battery pack. The setup generates a combined output of 5.98hp/140Nm. The scooter offers a range of 75km on a single charge and has a top speed of 78km/h. To ensure the safety of the riders, the TVS iQube electric scooter is equipped with a disc brake on the front wheel and a drum brake on the rear wheel. Suspension duties on the vehicle are taken care of by telescopic forks on the front side and hydraulic twin-tube shock absorbers on the rear end.

The e-scooter has a Bluetooth-enabled instrument console, next-gen TVS SmartXonnect platform, advanced TFT cluster, LED setup for lighting, under-seat storage compartment, a headlamp-mounted front apron, a flat-type, single-piece seat, a wide footboard, and a pillion grab rail. The connectivity app on the scooter enables multiple features such as Geo-fencing, Navigation Assist, Remote Battery Charge Status, Last park location, Incoming call alerts/SMS alerts among others.

The multi-city approach for the iQube will help TVS to garner more competitive sales against the Ather 450X and Bajaj Chetak. In India, the TVS iQube electric scooter carries a price tag of Rs. 1.08 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
