Sportier version of the i20 – Hyundai i20 N Launch Confirmed for 2021
In the Indian Automobile industry, carmakers are launching a sportier or performance trim of their top-selling models. South Korean multinational automotive manufacturer, Hyundai experiments on the same lines with the Hyundai i20 N. A media report claims that Hyundai has confirmed the launch of a sportier version of the standard i20 for the Indian market. In global markets, the N Line gets tweaked suspension, engine response, sportier-looking bumpers, and exhaust sound to make it stand out from the standard version of the hatchback.
Confirmed to be launched in the year 2021, the i20 N will be a proper hot hatchback from the South Korean carmaker. The i20 N will launch in India as a full-blown hot hatch with a 1.6-litre T-GDi petrol engine that will produce 201 bhp of power and 250 Nm of peak torque. However, the exact details are yet to be announced. Compared to the standard model, the hot hatch will have a more agile suspension setup and a sportier exhaust note.

Compared to the regular model, the performance-oriented i20 N Line looks sportier. The Interior layout of the Hyundai i20 N Line is exactly similar to the standard i20. The all-new i20 N Line features a spacious all-black cabin, sport front seats, contrast red stitching, N badging inside out, N branded leather gear knob, metal pedals and a bespoke steering wheel that makes it different from the standard model. In terms of safety, it has multiple airbags, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, driver attention warning system, and rear cross-traffic alert. It also packs a digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment console with support for connectivity options.

Designed to have a powerful and energetic look, it features a dominant new front bumper, a textured cascading grille, and a sleek rear bumper that enhances not just the model’s look but also its aerodynamic performance. For lighting, it has sleek headlights and Z-shaped taillights. On the sides, the hatchback is flanked by blacked-out B-pillars, ORVMs, and 18-inch wheels wrapped in Pirelli P Zero tires. The additional skirtings with a grey contrasting stripe and a chrome twin-exist exhaust add more to its appearance.

With all the top exterior and interior elements and with the powerful engine, the sportier version of the popular premium hatchback, Hyundai i20 N is expected to cost upwards of Rs. 20 lakh (ex-showroom).
