Special Editions of Triumph Scrambler 900 and 1200 Launched in India
Triumph Motorcycles India has launched two limited edition Scramblers in India, the Scrambler 1200 Steve McQueen and Street Scrambler 900 Sandstorm. The Scrambler 1200 Steve McQueen edition is priced at Rs 13.75 lakh while the Street Scrambler 900 Sandstorm is priced at Rs 9.65 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom, pan India. With the latest additions, Triumph’s Bonneville range now has a total of three special edition motorcycles in India. The British motorcycle maker launched the Street Twin Gold Line earlier, in April 2021.
Scrambler 1200 Steve McQueen Edition
The 2021 Triumph Scrambler 1200 Steve McQueen is essentially a fancier XE variant. Modeled after the famous movie star and biker’s 1963 Triumph TR6 bike from the movie ‘The Great Escape’, the bike flaunts some unique bits. The Scrambler 1200 Steve McQueen edition is based on the Scrambler 1200 XE that made its global debut last month. The 2021 Scrambler 1200 Steve McQueen edition is powered by Triumph’s latest 1200cc, 8-valve engine which puts out 88 bhp at 7,250 rpm and 110Nm at 4,500 rpm.
The highlighted features in this bike are laser cut and pressed aluminium radiator guard, exclusive competition green paint scheme, premium brown bench seat with stitched ribbing and Triumph branding, the electro-polished finished engine protection dresser bars that offer additional protection to the clutch, hand-painted gold lining, laser-cut and pressed aluminium radiator guard, unique Steve McQueen branding on the tank and handlebar clamp, gold heritage Triumph logos, brushed foil knee pads and brushed stainless steel tank strap.
Street Scrambler 900 Sandstorm Edition
The Street Scrambler Sandstorm gets an appealing paint scheme along with a host of premium accessories. It is powered by the 900 cc, high-torque Bonneville twin-cylinder engine, which has now been updated to comply with the latest Euro 5 (and Bharat Stage VI) emission standards. The motor churns out 65 bhp at 7,250 rpm, while peak torque is 80 Nm at 3,250 rpm.
While it is mechanically identical to the 2021 Street Scrambler, the Sandstorm’s custom paint scheme incorporates Matt Storm Grey and Ironstone accents on the tank in a unique new tri-tone style, and a Matt Storm Grey factory-fitted high-level front mudguard, premium Triumph accessory tail tidy as standard, incorporating a compact LED taillight and number plate light, plus a heavy-duty aluminium sump guard, a headlight grille with subtle Triumph branding and protective rubber knee pads on the tank.
Just 1,000 Scrambler 1200 Steve McQueen Edition models will be available worldwide, and each bike is individually numbered on the billet-machined handlebar clamp, which also features a laser-etched Steve McQueen signature. Just 775 units of the Street Scrambler Sandstorm limited edition will be produced worldwide. Triumph has allotted a total of 25 units of both limited-edition motorcycles for the Indian market.
