As motorgyan team member enters the Sonet’s cabin he clearly found the similarities with the Kia Seltos. The dashboard has the same layout as the Seltos, as it features the same 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and the instrument console. The touchscreen unit is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth connectivity and others. The Bose sound system is decent and again is better than what others offer in the segment. The Kia Sonet’s Bose premium sound system is quite impressive.

Seltos Sonet

The new Kia Sonet’s AC unit is good enough to cool down the cabin in few minutes. For the rear passengers, the SUV offers air-con vents. It also has an integrated air-purifier with virus protection, which can be controlled using the touchscreen. The plastic buttons quality is also very good. The Kia Sonet offers a luggage compartment of 392-litres, which is good enough.

Kia Sonet Exterior

Kia Sonet features a unique design and the overall look of the car is quite appealing. No one can deny that this car shares a lot of design cues from Seltos and Sonic SUVs and that’s a good thing. The sub 4 metres SUV front signature tiger-nose grille in chrome and black is flanked by uniquely styled Crown Jewel LED headlamps and ‘Heartbeat’ LED DRLs which make it look fascinating. The front bumper has dual-tone treatment and the bumper houses stylish fog lamps and scuff plate. Kia logo is positioned above the grille.

In terms of exterior features, when we observed the car we found that the car looks appealing, featuring shorter overhangs, black plastic cladding running all around the body, sharp-looking 16-inch alloys shod with MRF tyres, blackened ORVMs, roof rails and chromed door handles. Conclusion – Pros and Cons

The overall quality levels in this Sonet car are appreciable but does it have any shortcomings? Let’s quickly check the pros and cons of this car. We must say it is a great highway car! The rigid chassis allows the driver to confidently change directions at higher speeds. Kia Sonet features Bose audio system with 7 speakers, front ventilated seats, wireless charger, sound mood lighting, top-notch fit & finish and plastic quality, excellent AC performance, seamless touchscreen user interface, diesel AT performance and more, simply makes the Sonet the well-packaged product. It offers everything this segment demands. Shares the platform with the Hyundai Venue, the Sonet cleverly designed areas all across the cabin to stow your phone and other knick-knacks.

The biggest drawback of this SUV is seating comfort. The front seats are okay, but the rear passenger area is congested. Seating three healthy adults at the back will have them jostle for the shoulder as well as leg space. So we can say compromised interior space is the biggest drawback. Expensive higher variants is also another loophole in this car.

We must say that this family car Sonet has every top feature and if Kia once again gets the pricing right as it did with the Seltos, Sonet will help Kia to gain its position further in the market.
