Renault Kiger launch soon in India

The French auto giant, Renault is all set to launch sub-compact SUV, the Kiger in India on 15 February 2021. It is no hidden truth that the Renault India has started the mass production of its upcoming compact Kiger SUV at its manufacturing facility in Chennai. Renault also states that it has also started to dispatch the units to 500 Renault dealerships in the country. At the time of launch, we expect to see the Renault Kiger’s prices to be in the range of Rs 5 – 9.5 lakh (ex-showroom).

Mechanically, the Renault Kiger will offer two petrol engine options – 1.0-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine delivering 100 PS and 160 Nm, and 1.0 L petrol engine with an output of 72 PS and 96 Nm. The transmission option will include a five-speed manual and a five-speed EASY-R AMT on the 1.0 L petrol engine, and five-speed manual and 5-speed X-TRONIC CVT on the 1.0-litre turbocharged unit. The higher variants will offer multi-sense settings for different driving modes, such as – Normal mode, Eco mode, and Sports mode. The Renault Kiger is based on the Alliance’s CMF-A+ platform. It’s 3,991 mm long, 1,750mm wide and 1,600 mm tall, and has a 2,500 mm-long wheelbase. There will be a total of six colour options for the Kiger, Ice Cool White, Planet Grey, Caspian Blue, Moonlight Grey, Mahogany Brown, and Radiant Red with Mystery Black Roof.

The French automaker introduced safety feature which includes dual front airbags and two side airbags (in higher-spec variant), three-point seat-belt at the rear, and a two-point seatbelt in the middle. The front seats also offer a seatbelt reminder for enhanced safety.
