New KTM 1290 Super Duke RR Officially Revealed

KTM has officially announced a limited edition model of its super naked motorcycle. Only 500 units of the limited edition KTM 1290 Super Duke RR will be manufactured, to be sold globally. The new KTM 1290 Super Duke RR, as it’s called, is a lighter, more focussed motorcycle. The RR model has not been so much of a secret as rumours, and even emission paperwork have pointed to the inevitable introduction of this super special, super naked. So far, what were not known were the exact specs, and how much updations the RR will come with, compared to the standard KTM 1290 Super Duke R. In fact, the 1290 Super Duke RR is a revised version of the 1290 Super Duke R model and gets higher-spec components and weight-saving measures.

About KTM 1290 Super Duke RR

Based on the latest KTM 1290 Super Duke R framework, the KTM 1290 Super Duke RR is the very definition of Ready to Race. 2021 KTM 1290 Super Duke RR is 9 kilograms lighter than the standard KTM 1290 Super Duke R, boasting a 1:1 power to weight ratio and ultra-exclusive, lightweight carbon fiber bodywork, the new KTM 1290 Super Duke RR is an all-new beast with an even meaner streak.

The 1301 cc LC8 V-twin engine makes a claimed 180 hp and 140 Nm of torque, which is pretty exciting inside such a lightweight package. However, what makes the motorcycle very special is the suspension upgrade. If you buy one, you will get a fully adjustable WP APEX PRO 7548 close cartridge fork, along with an adjustable WP APEX PRO 7117 steering damper. The rear shock is an APEX PRO 7746 unit that delivers unparalleled performance on track and street.

Track and Performance Riding Modes

The electronics package has also been revised on the RR Model with Track and Performance riding modes. The Track mode allows the rider to customize a few features to best suit their riding style, like the level of slip allowed by the traction control, plus anti-wheelie can be switched off. The performance mode is an ultimate aggressive street mode that allows some customization of traction control, with anti-wheelie being allowed to be switched off.

The KTM 1290 Super Duke RR goes on sale for European customers on 08th April 2021 at 10:00 CET. As for India, no chance of even getting the Standard KTM 1290 Super Duke R yet!
