New Kia K9 Sedan Facelift Interior Revealed With Plenty of New Tech
Kia Motors had officially revealed the K9 facelift in the south Korean market in May 2021. With the midlife update, the brand’s new sedan has become significantly sharper-looking, and much classier than the previous year’s model. Now, the carmaker has revealed the new sedan’s interior details as well, and it is nothing short of impressive.
Kia K9 Sedan: Interior Features and Equipments
Inside the cabin, the K9 sedan gets a new 14.5-inch infotainment touchscreen, which replaces the older 12.3-inch display and an improved head-up display. The car manufacturer packs a 14.5-inch infotainment touchscreen with a fingerprint authentication system and support for over-the-air updates. Once the fingerprint is recognized, the driver seat position and temperature control settings are changed automatically. Other than that, users can also use a fingerprint authentication system to make payments via the infotainment touchscreen, which is a handy convenience feature.
The 2021 Kia K9 facelift also offers connected car technology, which allows users to remotely start the vehicle and check the surroundings via the smartphone app. The new sedan also supports over-the-air (OTA) updates for the instrument cluster and infotainment system. There are plenty of advanced safety systems on offer as well, like Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Multi-Collision-Avoidance Auto Braking System, Rear Parking Collision Prevention Assistive, Remote Parking Assist, and Forward Predictive Shift System.
The new-generation Kia K9 also comes with the world’s first Predictive Gear-shift Setup. By using the information provided by navigation, radar, and cameras, the system predicts forward acceleration or deceleration, and shifts to the appropriate gear. The advantage of this system includes improved fuel economy, along with better safety and convenience.
For improving ride comfort, the new sedan comes with a preview electronically controlled suspension, which analyses the road surface using the front camera and sat-nav, and then alters the suspension softness accordingly. The vehicle also gets improved sound-insulating glass, which keeps outside noises to a minimum. The all-new Kia K9 facelift surely feels like a proper luxury large sedan, worthy of being Kia’s flagship.
