New Aprilia SXR 125 Maxi-Scooter Launched in India
Piaggio India has officially launched the new Aprilia SXR 125 maxi-scooter in the country at a price tag of Rs. 1.15 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune). The SXR 125 Scooter is based on its sibling – Aprilia SXR 160 that went on sale in December 2020. The Maxi-Scooter model was listed on the company’s website last month and the prices too were revealed at the time. Bookings for the New Aprilia SXR 125 Scooter are already open across dealerships for a token amount of Rs. 5000.

Aprilia SXR 125: Engine and Transmission
The Aprilia SXR 125 Scooter is powered by a 125 cc single-cylinder, 4-stroke, air-cooled, three-valve engine with fuel injection. It develops 9.3 bhp at 7600 rpm and 9.2 Nm of max torque at 6250 rpm. The engine is paired with a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) unit.
Aprilia SXR 125: Features
The feature list on the two-wheeler includes LED headlights and taillights with LED DRLs, and an all-digital instrument console with optional Bluetooth connectivity that connects the user’s smartphone with the two-wheeler. Other features include a USB charging port, split glovebox, and 20L of under-seat storage. The SXR 125 also gets a flyscreen and raised handlebar.
The Aprilia SXR 125 gets telescopic forks at the front and a single hydraulic shock at the rear. The braking system comes with a 220 mm disc brake at the front with CBS (Combined braking system), while the rear gets a 140 mm drum brake. The Aprilia SXR 125 scooter remains identical to its sibling SXR 160 in terms of dimensions and also gets the same 12-inch alloy wheels.
The Maxi-Scooter is available in four colours options- Glossy Red, Matt Blue, Glossy White, and Matt Black. It competes with Suzuki Burgman Street and the TVS Ntorq.
