New Adventure Bike Yamaha FZ-X India Launch Soon

Yamaha Motor India is all set to launch a new motorcycle that will be positioned in the FZ family. Based on the Yamaha FZ-S FI V3.0, Yamaha is planning to introduce a new sporty commuter, the Yamaha FZ-X in the market this summer. It is now confirmed via a type approval certificate that Yamaha will launch an adventure-themed motorcycle in May or June. A modern-retro styling motorcycle, Yamaha FZ-X will have design similarities with the XSR150.

2021 Yamaha FZ-X: Engine and Specifications

Thanks to an approval certificate, we now know quite a bit about the upcoming FZ-X. According to the type approval certificate, the bike uses the same engine as the FZ-S. This 149cc single-cylinder air-cooled, fuel-injected motor churns out the same power as the naked (12.4PS at 7,250rpm). So expect the torque output to remain the same as well. In the FZ-S, the motor produces 13.3Nm at 5500rpm. The engine will be mated to a 5-speed transmission.

The document also reveals the dimensions of the motorcycle. According to the leaked document, the upcoming model will measure 2,020mm in length, 785mm in width, and 1,115mm in height. The new model will be 30mm longer, 5mm wider and 35mm taller than the FZS-Fi. The FZ-X will be quite a bigger-looking bike than its naked streetfighter sibling.

2021 Yamaha FZ-X: Design and Safety

According to the type approval certificate, in terms of styling, the upcoming two-wheeler the Yamaha FZ-X will have a rugged look and will come equipped with fork gaiters, an LED headlight, a digital instrument console, 17-inch alloy wheels, box-style sloping fuel tank, flat seat design, a beak-like front fender, knuckle guards, relaxed riding position, a raised windshield and upswept exhaust.

To ensure the safety of the rider, the Yamaha FZ-X will be equipped with disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels. The bike will get single-channel ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) as standard. The suspension mechanism will comprise telescopic forks at the front and a 7-step adjustable monocross at the rear.

Yamaha FZ-X Pricing

The Yamaha FZ-X is expected to be launched in India towards mid-2021. Please note, the pricing and availability details of the Yamaha FZ-X in India are likely to roll out soon. However, the new motorcycle is expected to be priced around Rs. 1.14 lakh (ex-showroom).
