Made in India Honda Dio Launched in the Philippines
Honda Dio, one of the highest-selling scooters in India and is only second to its ever-popular sibling- the Activa in the manufacturer’s scooter range has been launched in the Philippines market. The Dio model launched in the South East Asian market is made in India and also identical to the scooter sold in the country. In the Philippines, the Honda Dio scooter introduced at a price tag of PHP 49,900 (approximately Rs. 76,900). In comparison, in India, it starts at Rs. 63,273 and goes up to Rs. 66,671 (both prices, ex-showroom, Delhi).
At the heart of the Honda Dio scooter sits a 109 cc, single-cylinder engine that is capable of producing 8 bhp of maximum power and 8.91 Nm of peak torque. The scooter is linked to a CVT gearbox.
Honda Dio Scooter Features
In terms of features, the Honda Dio comes with a full-LED lighting setup, digital instrument cluster with intelligent display, headlight-mounted front apron, an upswept exhaust, a stepped-up seat with a pillion grab rail, sharp-looking body panels, LED DRL, 14.4L under-seat storage compartment and many more.
For ensuring the safety of the rider, the Honda Dio is equipped with drum brakes on both the front and rear wheels. However, there is no ABS for better handling on the roads. Suspension duties on the scooter are taken care of by telescopic forks on the front side and a 3-step adjustable hydraulic shocker on the rear end.

The India-spec model gets two variants (Standard and Deluxe) and five body colors. The model launched in the Philippines comes in three dual-tone colors – Blue/White, Red/Grey, and Orange/Grey.
