Kia Big Announcements – New Sonet, Seltos Coming Next Month
Kia, a subsidiary of Hyundai had entered the Indian market back in 2019 with a bang and its first product offering was the Seltos. As we reported earlier, Kia Motors has revealed that something big coming up on 27 April 2021. The wait is finally over! Kia Motors India hosted an online press conference in which it shared insights about its brand transformation journey and made some key announcements as a part of this. Check the key announcements.
Kia Motors India Dropped ‘Motors’ From its Name
First and foremost, Kia Motors India has dropped ‘Motors’ from its name, and hence, Kia Motors India will be known as Kia India from now on. The reason behind this is the company’s transition ‘from an automaker to an advanced and eco-friendly mobility solutions provider’.
New Brand Logo
The South Korean auto major, which is a part of the Hyundai Group unveiled its new brand logo earlier this year in January. The completely redesigned brand logo will be debuting in India through the Seltos and Sonet SUV. The updated Sonet and Seltos will hit showrooms next month.
The new brand logo will be replacing the old logo everywhere including the bonnet, tailgate, alloy wheels, and steering wheel as well. Expect the Kia Carnival premium MPV too to receive the same logo later.
New Seltos and Sonet Coming Next Month
Kia Motors India has announced that it will be launching the new Sonet and Seltos next month. In addition, the brand has revealed that it will be making entry into a new segment in 2022. Kia is reportedly working on a new seven-seater MPV or crossover for the Indian market, which will be underpinned by the same platform as Seltos.
11 EV Line-Up By 2026
The brand made a big announcement towards the electric vehicle space as well. The South Korean brand revealed that it will be bringing an 11 EV line-up by the year 2026. These will include seven new dedicated electric vehicles. Kia aims to sell 1.6 million eco-friendly cars by 2030.
Kia India also said that it will expand its network in India. Talking of expansion, Kia India says that it will have 350 touch points in 200+ cities across the country including Tier-3 and selected Tier-4 towns by the end of this year.
The Kia Seltos Gravity Edition, which is expected to feature a panoramic sunroof is also set to be introduced in the coming weeks.
