India-Made 2021 BMW G 310 GS Bike goes on Sale in Japan
German bikemaker BMW Motorrad’s 2021 G 310 GS bike, which is manufactured in India, has been launched in Japan at a price tag of JPY 708,000 (converts to Rs. 4.79 lakh, as per current exchange rates). BMW G 310 GS Bike is manufactured in India and exported to several other countries including Japan. The 2021 BMW G 310 GS model was introduced in our country in late-2020 at a price tag of 2.90 lakh (ex-showroom) which makes it close to 1.90 lakh costlier in Japan when compared to the Indian price.
2021 BMW G 310 GS: Design and Features
The BMW G 310 GS motorcycle is quite a popular offering in the smaller division of BMW Motorrad. The new model shares the powertrain and platform with the G 310 R that is the naked sibling of the GS. The Japanese-spec G 310 GS bike model is no different in terms of engine, features, or specifications from the Indian-spec model. The motorcycle features full-LED lighting for the headlamp, tail lamp, and turn indicators. The bike also gets a slightly updated styling with redesigned fuel tank extensions. Some of the key features of the updated BMW G 310 GS include ride-by-wire throttle, adjustable clutch, and brake levers as well as a slipper clutch.
The Japanese-spec model comes with the same exterior styling and design, and also gets the same mechanicals and features as of Indian-spec model. On the outside, it adorns the ‘Rallye’ paint scheme which comprises blue and black with red highlights and a red trellis frame. In addition to that, BMW is also offering the adventure touring bike in Plain Polar White and a ‘40 Years GS’ Edition.
2021 BMW G 310 GS: Powertrain
The updated 2021 BMW G 310 GS Bike is powered by a 312 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that manages to produce 34 bhp of power and 28 Nm of max torque and comes mated to a six-speed gearbox.
