Hyundai Verna Gets Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
One of the leading forces behind Hyundai’s success story in India, the Verna is one of the most feature-rich mid-size sedan. The Korean automaker has updated its Verna sedan with new features. Hyundai Motor India has now added wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto technology to the car. The facelifted Hyundai Verna, which was launched in the Indian market last year has now become the first car in the segment to get wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. While this is not the industry-first feature, the Verna is the only car to get it in the segment. However, this very feature has been available on the all-new i20 since its arrival late last year.
Hyundai Verna S+ and SX – Wireless Smartphone Connectivity
The highly popular, Hyundai Verna is currently offered in four variants – E, S+, SX, and SX(O). While the entry-level E variant does not get a factory-fitted touchscreen infotainment system, S+ and SX variants come with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The top-spec SX(O) variant boasts an 8-inch touchscreen AVNT system with an HD display.
It is only the S+ and SX variants that get wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto. The 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system in S+ and SX variants of the Verna is now compatible with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. However, the SX(O) variant’s infotainment system still requires a wire to operate the smartphone connectivity features. The fully-loaded SX (O) variant of the 2021 Verna doesn’t get the new feature.
Apart from this addition, no new feature upgrade has been made to the Hyundai Verna.
The mid-size sedan boasts of three engine options – 1.5-litre MPi petrol (115PS and 144Nm), 1.0-litre turbo-GDI petrol (120PS and 172Nm), and 1.5-litre CRDi diesel (115PS and 250Nm). The 1.5-litre MPi petrol mill can be paired either with a 6-speed MT or an IVT automatic. The 1.0-litre turbo-GDI petrol motor is mated to a 7-speed DCT automatic. The 1.5-litre CRDi diesel engine has 6-speed MT and 6-speed AT choices.
