CFMoto 650GT BS6 Teased Ahead of India Launch
CFMoto has teased another motorcycle that will be launched soon in the Indian market. The Chinese company has taken to social media to tease its upcoming BS6-compliant 650GT. Following the teaser of the 650NK, CFMoto has now teased the BS6 adventure tourer GT650. CFMoto had teased the 650NK on the manufacturer’s social network handle a couple of weeks before. We believe that the motorcycle manufacturer will launch both motorcycles with a BS6 compliant engine in the coming months.
The GT, as the name reveals, is the sports tourer, designed for long-distance touring. The new BS6 CFMoto 650GT is expected to be quite similar to the previous-gen model. The company decided to update all its BS4 motorcycles to meet BS6 emission norms in the country. It is expected that 650GT will share most of its specs with the naked sibling 650NK but please note, the design of the motorcycle is entirely different.
The 650GT will come with a large fairing and adjustable windscreen to provide an aerodynamic design. It also features alloy wheels shod with tubeless tyres, 19-litre long-range fuel tank to increase the touring abilities of the motorcycle, LED headlamps with an L-shaped DRL. Other features include a 5.0-inch TFT display for the instrument cluster along with switchgear to choose from various ride modes, a USB charging port, and a 12V power socket to charge smartphones.
The pricing of the BS4 model was Rs 5.49 lakh (ex-showroom), and the newer BS6 model is likely to be priced the same. The Chinese bike maker, CFMoto declared that the company is looking forward to 50 percent localization. While the engine drivetrain and frame will be imported into the country, CFMoto would locally source components for braking, suspension, and other electrical features. By using most of the components locally, CFMoto could benefit from tax exemption. And that is why the company will most likely price the BS6 models the same as that of the BS4 models.
Power Figures of BS6 GT650
The power and torque figures of the BS6-compliant model are still not disclosed. It is expected that the power figures of BS6 GT650 could also be the same as that of the BS4 model. For reference, the BS4-compliant 650GT is powered by a 650cc parallel-twin engine, producing 62bhp and 58.5Nm. The engine will now comply with the latest emission standards.
