BMW X7 M50d Dark Shadow Edition Launched in India

German luxury car manufacturer BMW has launched a limited-run Dark Shadow Edition model of X7 in our country at Rs 2.02 crore (ex-showroom, India) – about Rs 36 lakh more than the standard X7 M50d. This limited-run model is based on the top-spec M Performance variant of the flagship sports utility vehicle. Only five hundred units of this special edition will be sold worldwide, including India where it will be available as a completely built-up unit (CBU). Available only in the M50d trim, this limited-edition model, as the name suggests, receives an all-black colour theme on its exterior. Interested customers can register their bookings on the company’s official India website.

BMW X7 M50d Dark Shadow Edition: Exterior Design

While the exterior design of the SUV is similar to the standard X7 model, this special edition model benefits from the M Sports package as well as additional styling enhancements. The SUV has been finished in an exclusive BMW Individual custom paint scheme named Frozen Arctic Grey metallic which has been used for the first time in BMW’s X model. Another exclusive feature of BMW X7 Dark Shadow edition is the new BMW Laserlight technology which makes a striking impression.

Apart from the custom black colour scheme, BMW kidney grille, roof rails, mirror bases, air breathers, exhaust tailpipes and other components. Another exclusive feature of this Dark Shadow Edition is the 22-inch M light-alloy wheels in V-spoke design with a Jet Black matt finish and fitted with mixed tyres. The SUVs dynamic nature is uplifted by the aerodynamically optimised bodywork elements of the M Sports package.

BMW X7 M50d Dark Shadow Edition: Interior

The cabin of the SUV is a perfect blend of sportiness, comfort, and luxury with Merino Full Leather upholstery offered in the specific two-tone night blue/ black variant with contrasting seams. The roof liner has been given an Alcantara finish in a night blue paint.

In addition, Black Merino leather is used on the lower section of the instrument cluster and on the front backrests. The front row is equipped with electrically adjustable comfort seats with memory functions. The limited-edition model is exclusively available as a six-seater with captain seats in the middle row.

An M leather steering wheel specially developed for this special-edition bear witness to the very highest level of exclusivity. The inteior feature list inlucdes a 5-zone climate control, uniquely designed centre console with BMW custom trim finishers wrapped in Piano Black finish and wearing an edition logo, BMW Live Cockpit Professional, iDrive Control wheel, a 7.0-inch navigation screen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument display, Harman Kardon surround sound system with sixteen speakers among many others.

BMW X7 M50d Dark Shadow Edition: Powertrain

BMW X7 Dark Shadow Edition is powered by the same 3.0L inline 6-cylinder turbo diesel engine producing a massive 400 bhp and 760 Nm of max torque as the M50d. This 3.0L engine is mated to an 8-speed Steptronic sport automatic transmission (AT) and this combination can attain a 0-100 km/h in just 5.4 sec.
