Benelli Leoncino 500 Sport Cafe Racer Bike Revealed
Italian bikemaker, Benelli has launched the new Leoncino 500 Sport – Cafe Racer Version of the Standard Leoncino 500 in China. The bike manufacturer has made certain updations, majorly cosmetic, to make it look like a classic cafe-racer while keeping it mostly unchanged in terms of cycle parts and powertrain.
Benelli Leoncino 500 Sport: Design and Features
Benelli Leoncino 500 Sport version looks quite different from its standard model Leoncino 500 scrambler. The two-wheeler gets a bubble fairing, clip-on handlebars, wire-spoke rims, and a saddlebag. Unlike the standard model, the 500 Sport variant comes with a puny double-barrel exhaust instead of a single canister on the scrambler. The remaining design elements like the sloping fuel tank, single-piece stitched seat, and blacked-out mechanical bits are carried forward from Leoncino 500. Both the bikes get a fully digital LCD instrument console that offers all the essential readouts like odometer, tachometer, speed, gear-position indicator, trip meter, etc. However, the new variant gets a negative LCD which offers better visibility even in the sunlight.
Benelli Leoncino 500 Sport: Powertrain and Performance
Propelling the Leocino 500 Sport Cafe Racer is the same 500cc, parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine that does duty on the standard trim. However, it generates slightly more power and torque at 47.5bhp and 47Nm.
The motorcycle rides on 17-inch spoke wheels that are shod with 120/70 section tyre at the front and 160/60 section tyre at the rear. The damping setup includes upside-down forks and a mono-shock with dual discs up front and a single disc at the rear are present for shedding speed. For suspension duty, there are 50mm upside-down forks in the front and a mono-shock in the rear. The braking system has been carried forward too, with a 320mm twin-disc brake in the front and a 260mm disc brake in the rear.
The Italian automaker already retails the standard Leoncino 500 trim in the Indian market at Rs 4.59 lakh. The Sport Cafe Racer version is unlikely to arrive here anytime, as is the case with its Trail model.
