2021 Skoda Fabia: Exterior Design
Over the course of April 2021, Skoda Auto has been steadily releasing official design sketches teasing the exterior and interior of the 2021 Skoda Fabia. It show the clear, modern and dynamically drawn lines of the new model. The upcoming Fabia will be 111 mm longer and 48 mm wider than the previous-gen model. The diagonal front view of the new Skoda Fabia offers a first glimpse of the flat front headlights and the larger front grille, which has a sporty, elegant look with a chrome frame and black ribs. Large wheels also enhance the powerful appearance.
The sketches give a more detailed impression of the new model’s modern light units. The modules resemble blocks of ice in the Sharpe full-LED front headlights, which extend up to the Skoda grille. An L-shaped DRL module can be seen, as well. Brand’s signature crystalline elements can also be found in the graphics of the distinctly flat rear lights that will be available in a full-LED version.
2021 Skoda Fabia: Interior Design
An interior design sketch reveals further details of the 2021 Skoda Fabia and gives a first impression of the inside of the fourth model generation. The interior of the popular small car offers even more space, an enhanced sense of spaciousness and fresh colours. The symmetrically designed instrument panel with its central free-standing infotainment touchscreen display and a coloured horizontal decorative trim accentuates the width of the interior, and the character line beneath the display mirrors the Skoda grille. The design sketch also reveals prominent Fabia lettering on the side of the instrument panel. The touchscreen enables the modern infotainment systems as well as many other vehicle functions to be controlled with ease. The design sketch also shows the customizable Virtual Cockpit, which is a key feature of larger Skoda models and is now making its debut as an option for the Fabia.
The 4th gen Skoda Fabia will use the latest gen of the VW Group’s petrol engines, with most models using versions of the turbocharged 3-cylinder TSI unit. In a bid to keep the Fabia affordable, Motor Gyan understands it’s unlikely that any of the initial engines will feature electrification. Skoda has confirmed that the engines will be offered with either a manual or 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
