2022 Honda Civic Official Image Released ahead of its full debut
The Japanese automaker, Honda on 14th April provided a first look at its redesigned 2022 Civic sedan which goes on sale this spring. The carmaker had revealed the Civic Prototype last year in the month of November. The first official image confirms that the new-gen Civic looks largely identical to the concept. Honda has officially announced to reveal all details of the new Civic model on 28th April. The carmaker will share all the technical details along with more pictures of the car on the above-mentioned date.
New-Gen Honda Civic car will first go on sale in the United States with production to commence in Canada. The carmaker plans to present the new Civic 2022 model via the “Honda Civic Tour” event, which is basically a series of presentations throughout the North American summer.
The carmaker said in a statement that “Inspired by the timeless design and human-focused values of past Civics, designers and engineers prioritized Honda’s human-centered design philosophy, which maximizes the total environment for the driver and passengers while minimizing the space needed for mechanical components. The goal of the company is to increase the driver’s ability to enjoy the car safely. The result is a sporty new look and an all-new simple and sporty interior that advances essential Civic values of uncluttered design, simple ergonomics and exceptional visibility.
2022 Honda Civic Exterior
The 11th generation Honda Civic looks similar to the prototype showcased earlier. While staying close to the exterior profile of the prototype, the new Civic has gloss black elements dominating the face of the car but not anywhere close to how much of it was used in the previous civic model. The hood of the new-gen Civic has sharper edges and extends to meet the brand’s logo. The headlights have been redesigned while the lower bumper too has received some degree of attention.
2022 Honda Civic Interior
The car manufacturer had revealed the interior design of the new model. The new model features a simple dashboard with minimal buttons. The instrument console panel is free of visual clutter, minimizing cut lines and breaks to offer the driver a clear view of the road ahead. The 2022 Honda Civic is claimed to offer multiple new Civic-first technologies, including an all-digital driver’s meter cluster and a new 9-inch full-HD free-standing touchscreen infotainment system.
The prototype images reveal that the new model will come with a panoramic sunroof. 2022 civic will also get an upgraded suite of Honda Sensing safety and driver-assistive technologies, and multiple new safety airbag designs. The new-gen civic is likely to be based on the Mahindra’s new Global platform, which is expected to be stronger, safer and stiffer than the current architecture.
The New-generation civic model is expected to be powered by a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that puts out a max power output of 174bhp and a peak torque of 220Nm. Both manual and automatic gearbox options will be on offer.
