2021 Volkswagen Taigun to be Unveiled on March 31

The German automaker, Volkswagen is all set to unveil the Taigun Mid-Size SUVW in the Indian market on March 31, 2021, just two weeks after Skoda unveiled its Taigun-rival, the Kushaq, on 18 March 2021. Volkswagen’s first midsize SUVW and the first Volkswagen to be based on the Group’s tailored-for-India MQB A0 IN platform – the Volkswagen Taigun official launch is expected to take place around the festive season. Volkswagen first showcased the upcoming Taigun at the 2020 Auto Expo. The carmaker has released multiple teasers of the upcoming car arrival in the Indian market ahead of its launch.

In terms of design, the vibrant and energetic SUVW, Taigun will borrow many design elements from the international-spec T-Cross. On the inside, the Taigun is expected to look similar to the bigger T-ROC SUV. Based on the same MQB A0 IN platform as the Kushaq, the Taigun is likely to be similar to the Kushaq SUV. On the feature front, the VW Taigun is expected to be offered with a large 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, all-LED exterior lighting, connected-car tech, a multi-function instrument cluster, ambient lighting, automatic climate control, LED DRLs, ventilated front seats, an electric sunroof, 6 airbags, electronic stability control and hill launch assist.

Gearbox options will include a six-speed manual for both engines and a dual-clutch automatic for the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol unit.
