2021 Volkswagen T-Roc to be relaunched in India
German carmaker, Volkswagen will re-launch the T-Roc SUV in India on April 1. The SUV was introduced in India in March 2020 and only 1,000-units were imported by the car manufacturer. Introduced as a CBU model, all the units were sold off within few months and the company announced the closure of bookings in September 2020. Now, the carmaker is all set to bring a second batch of the T-Roc which will be launched on 1 April. The latest VW T-Roc is likely to arrive via the same CBU course and will thus again be a limitedly available product. A price increase over the earlier 19.99 lakh is expected, with the new price rumored to be Rs 21.35 lakh, ex-showroom.
Mechanically, The 2021 Volkswagen T-Roc will remain identical to the earlier car. At the heart of the T-Roc will sit a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine pumping out 150 bhp of maximum power and 250 Nm of peak torque. The motor will come paired with a 7-speed DCT. Volkswagen claims a 0 to 100kmph time of 8.4s and a top speed of 205kmph. The T-Roc 2021 comes equipped with intelligent – Active Cylinder Technology (ACT) that senses the driving pattern and accordingly activates or deactivates 2 cylinders out of 4 resulting in reduced fuel consumption.
Features – Interior and Exterior
In term of styling and features, the 2021 Volkswagen T-Roc will remain unchanged and will continue to come with the same offerings. The T Roc will have features such as black coloured exterior mirrors, body-coloured door handles, interior chrome package, roof rails- silver anodised, panoramic sunroof, LED Headlamps, R17 diamond-cut alloy wheels, LED tail lamps. In terms of comfort and convenience the SUV will come equipped with 2-Zone air conditioning – climatronic, front seat lumbar support, front centre armrest, rear centre armrest, leather gear shift knob, Vienna leather seats, heat insulating windshield, green heat insulated side and rear windows.
India-spec T-Roc will come with electrically adjustable exterior mirrors, power windows, automatic headlamp control, coming home and leaving the home function, electromechanical parking brake, rear wash/wipe with intermittent function, illuminated sun visors, split folding rear seat backrest, height adjustable luggage compartment floor, LED reading lights in front and rear, 12V Outlet in front and rear, height adjustable front seats, heated front seats, drawers under front seats, rain sensor, KESSY- Keyless entry and drive system and washer fluid level warning light.
Other features include hill start assist, leather wrapped steering wheel, multifunction steering wheel, start stop system with generative braking, paddle shift, digital cockpit – active info display, diversity antenna, AppConnect, USB interface, 6 speakers and composition media infotainment system.
This premium offering covers safety features such as lockable wheel bolts, driver and front passenger airbag, heated exterior mirrors, convex driver side exterior mirror, front and rear disc brakes, electronic stability control, driver steering recommendation, anti lock braking system, anti skid regulation, electronic immobiliser, park distance control front and rear, LED daytime running lights, auto hold, auto dimming interior rear view mirror, rear view camera, safety optimised front head restraints, dynamic headlamp range adjustment, rear fog lamp, front fog lamp with cornering function, tyre pressure monitoring system, front seat belt pre-tensioners, curtain airbags, front side airbags, seat belt warning, 3 rear seat belts and ISOFIX-Child seat anchor points.
The car would be available in six colour options Deep Black, Kurkuma Yellow, Pure White, Energetic Orange, Ravenna Blue and Indium Grey. Volkswagen India will announce the price of the 2021 T-Roc on April 1 itself.
