2021 Skoda Kodiaq Facelift To Debut Globally Today
Skoda will present the new Kodiaq facelift internationally today as it is now receiving visual and technological changes. The Skoda Kodiaq variants SportLine, L&K, and vRS have been updated, as well, and will also be appearing in the digital world premiere. In addition to its visual changes, the Kodiaq facelift has also received technological fine-tuning as well. The official teaser image released by the Skoda Auto a few days ago offers a glimpse of the striking front end with its redesigned bonnet, slimmed-down front headlights, and sharply drawn taillights with crystalline structures, creating a more succinct interpretation of the signature Skoda C-shape. Skoda will launch the updated Kodiaq facelift in India later this year.
2021 Skoda Kodiaq Facelift – Exterior & Interior Updations
The exterior design updations are quite visible as the front grille has been tweaked as it appears to have a flatter, modified front bumper, new lamp units at both front and rear ends, and updated DRLs. The bumper’s front air intakes seem to be more prominent than before and there might be some changes to the lower grille as well. To spruce up the 2021 Kodiaq a bit, the LED taillights seem to have slightly modified graphics.
The interior design of the car has been kept under wraps completely, and we aren’t sure if there would be any updates to the cabin side. Skoda Auto might add a few features and change the upholstery; we’ll know that for sure in a few hours. Other than that, the upcoming Kodiaq will also feature some changes under the hood.
Internationally, the new Kodiaq facelift will come with a twin-turbo diesel engine with the addition of a plug-in hybrid system. For India, the Kodiaq facelift will use a new BS6 compliant 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine producing 187 bhp and 320 Nm of max torque, mated to a seven-speed DSG gearbox and a 4×4 setup, to compete against the likes of 2021 Toyota Fortuner facelift, Ford Endeavour, Mahindra Alturas G4, and the MG Gloster.
Before the Skoda Kodiaq facelift’s arrival in the Indian market, the company will launch two other models here – the new-generation Octavia and the new Kushaq. The former is slated to launch later this month, while the latter will go on sale in June 2021.
