2021 BS6 Isuzu MU-X (Toyota Fortuner Rival) Launched in India
Isuzu India introduced the MU-X in the domestic market back in 2017 and it was discontinued ahead of the BS6 emission standards, which came into effect from April 2020. In the meantime, the Japanese commercial vehicle and diesel engine manufacturing company upped the ante by debuting the new-gen MU-X in the Southeast Asian markets with a host of updations inside and out. The 2021 BS6 Isuzu MU-X has been introduced in two variants namely 4×2 AT and 4×4 AT.
About 2021 BS6 Isuzu MU-X
The MU-X is powered by a 1.9L diesel engine that produces max power output of 160bhp and max torque performance of 320Nm between 2000-2500rpm. The engine is linked to a new six-speed sequential-shift automatic transmission (AT) as standard with both the 4×2 and 4×4 variants.
The 4×4 variant gets a shift-on-fly select dial for a better off-road driving experience and it also comes with uphill and downhill drive control. MU-X SUV continues to measure 4825 mm in length, 1860 mm in width, and 1840 mm height with a wheelbase length of 2845 mm.
The upright front fascia, as well as other design elements, are adopted from the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross pickup truck and it has also been updated to meet the stringent emission compliance alongside the debut of the Hi-Lander variant. Other key highlights are automatic climate control, cruise control, touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, Bluetooth connectivity, multi-functional steering wheel with mounted controls, traction control, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control, six airbags, and rear parking camera among others. The exterior of the 2021 Isuzu MU-X continues to feature a thick chromed front grille, muscular wheel arches, 18-inch wheels, LED DRLs, split LED tail-lamp cluster, rugged cladding and roof rails.
2021 BS6 Isuzu MU-X: Price
The MU-X SUV is priced from Rs. 33,23,000 for 2WD AT (automatic transmission) and it goes up to Rs. 35,19,000 lakh for 4WD AT (ex-showroom).
The SUV will take on the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, Mahindra Alturas and MG Gloster in the Indian market.
